ISC Partner in EU «Step to Sustainability» Project
The goal is to develop a qualification permitting employees of companies of the European leather and footwear industry to train and qualify as specialists for the implementation of sustainable production methods.
The project started in January 2014 and will continue until 31 March 2016. | ||

Michal Špaček Holds Workshop at APLF / MM&T
This event constituted part of the general programme at APLF MM&T (Asia Pacific Leather Fair / Materials, Manufacturing & Technology). Some 50 participants attended the three-hour-plus
workshop where they had the opportunity to ask detailed
questions. | ||

Craftsperson for Footwear Manufacturing
Their employers are Gabor, Solor Schuhforschung, adidas, Haix, Peter Kaiser, Semler, Lloyd and Lorenz Shoes. Hence seven German and one Austrian shoe manufacturers confirmed their commitment to this training course. In response to repeated requests from the industry, the training course was revived after a lapse of almost ten year by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and ISC Germany. There are plans to offer a new course in 2015. | ||

Did you know that ISC Germany is heavily
involved in footwear research in addition to its educational and training
activities? This Newsletter will tell you more about our latest activities
in connection with a European project.
The teaching modules will be presented
partly in e-learning sessions and partly in compulsory attendance
seminars. It is planned to offer this qualification in nine languages.
«Footwear Design and Production in
Compliance with International Standards» was the title of a workshop held
by ISC staff member Michal Špaček on 1 April in Hong Kong. 
Thirteen newly qualified master
craftswomen and craftsmen for footwear manufacturing were awarded their
certificates at Pirmasens on 28 March.
